Penn Joins NASCAR As Approved US Gaming Operator

NASCAR and Penn Interactive, a subsidiary of Penn National Gaming, Inc., revealed Friday a new multi-year agreement to make Penn National an approved NASCAR gaming operator in the U.S. The collaboration is Penn National’s first with a professional sports league and will concentrate on a brand new, free-to-play mobile game called NASCAR Finish Line, offering players the chance to win a $50,000 jackpot per race.

Additionally, NASCAR and Penn National expanded their long-standing race title sponsorship for Kansas Speedway’s “Hollywood Casino 400” through 2026, expanding the link between the two entertainment companies. The relationship fosters Hollywood Casino’s status as Kansas Speedway’s Official Casino Partner and NASCAR Cup SeriesTM race title sponsor scheduled for October 18, 2020.

Craig Neeb, Executive Vice President, of Innovation, NASCAR said: “We’re thrilled to have Penn National on board as our first authorised gaming operator to strengthen our effort to increase fan engagement with a platform perfect for in-play experience.

“Coupled with our landmark deal with Genius Sports in 2019, this partnership also positions NASCAR to take advantage of the rapid expansion of legalised sports betting across the country.”

Jennifer Weissman, Chief Marketing Officer for Penn National added: “We are very excited to enter this long-term, strategic partnership with NASCAR. We look forward to the opportunity to provide NASCAR fans multiple outlets for their fandom, including online on a new free-to-play mobile game and at our destination casinos and sportsbooks.”

The free-to-play mobile game NASCAR Finish Line will be available on iOS and Android phones and tablets ahead of the DAYTONA 500, and can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play store. Players can win the $50,000 jackpot by predicting the race winner and the top finishers correctly through six separate groupings of six drivers.

Kansas Speedway President Patrick Warren said: “I’m excited that we have extended our title race sponsorship agreement with Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway and as a company, that we are expanding our relationship with Penn National.

“Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway has been able to entertain thousands of their customers, not only from the Kansas City area, but also from around the country during the ‘Hollywood Casino 400’ the last several years. I look forward to continuing to help them entertain and reward their patrons for the next few years.”

Penn National is the nation’s largest regional gaming operator with 41 facilities in 19 states, including Kansas Speedway’s Hollywood Casino which overlooks the Speedway’s Turn 2 which opened in 2012. This partnership with NASCAR represents the Company’s strategy to continue to evolve its business, with a focus on becoming a best-in-class omni-channel retail and online gaming and sports betting entertainment provider.

As NASCAR’s approved gaming provider, Penn National will take an active role in supporting NASCAR across its assets and in its sports betting app that will be launched shortly. Genius Sports, NASCAR’s exclusive supplier of NASCAR data for approved sportsbooks, launched six new in-race bet forms in 2019, with an additional eight in preparation for the season of the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series.
