Poker World Series Announce 2020 Schedule

Poker’s World Series has announced its 2020 schedule, the early headlines for the year’s biggest poker event, and all-important bookend dates.

The favourite summer break of poker in the world will start on Tuesday, May 26th and end on Wednesday, July 15th. With no November Nine anymore, that may seem like a short time, but in fact it’s eight weeks and a day of intense poker rivalry that we’re going to end in Rozvadov after the WSOPE closes out the POY chase.

The Main Event is not going to take place until July,┬ábut ultimately, the events last 51 days, that’s one day for every year that the WSOP has been running, with this year’s showpiece called’ The Golden Anniversary ‘ WSOP. Since the World Series didn’t give the winner of last year’s event for their weight in gold, it might happen instead in 2020.

As well as the Main Event, the BIG 50 event that took place last year is also back. The event’s first flight on Day 1 is scheduled to take place on May 28. The event broke records in 2019 with a $500 buy-in and 50,000 starting chips and will certainly be as famous in 2020. The BIG 50 summer saw 28,371 participate, with the eventual winner being Femi Fashakin turning a $500 donation into $1.1 million.

The last one on the list is the Seniors Event, which starts from June 18th to the 21st, with three events confirmed. We should expect tournaments such as the Ladies Tournament, Millionaire Maker and Heads-up Championship as well as the $50,000 entry Poker Players Championship to be announced in due course, with the World Series of Poker announcing the full schedule early in 2020.
