Argentine business news sources report that the newly elected Governor of the Province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, will name close associate Omar Galdurralde as the new Director General of the Argentine Provinces Board for Lotteries and Casinos (IPLyC).
Kicillof, the former economic minister of Argentina, takes over the executive of Buenos Aires, having won the governorship vote of BA Province on 27 October against the incumbent Maria Eugenia Vidal.
Omar Galdurralde, a seasoned BA politician and business operator, will replace Argentina PRO Party appointee Matías Lanusse as IPLyC’s Managing Director.
During the governorship of Javier Mouriño, Galdurralde is the former financial director of’ IOMA,’ a medical assistance and worker programme for the provinces of BA.
Galdurralde has also seen more political experience sitting on the board of directors of the BA state-owned Banco Provincia, a role he would resign from during the term of Maria Eugenia Vidal.
More news updates show that Galdurralde will name Carlos Gallo, Argentina’s former liquidated National Lottery chief executive, as IPLyC’s vice president.
As far as Kicillof’s views on whether to promote the online gambling agenda of BA province are concerned, little is known as the Justicialist Party remained tightly linked to Argentine gambling reforms during campaigning in 2019.
IPLyC’s leadership, disrupted by regional and national elections, failed to release any of its planned licencing requirements for foreign operators to participate in the online gambling tendering process in Buenos Aires.
