Microgaming Gains Significant Milestone With ISO 14001 Certification

Microgaming has announced the completion of its 2020 International Organisation for Standardisation audit 14001 at its headquarters in Isle of Man, coinciding with World Environment Day.

The ISO 14001 certification is seen as a ‘significant milestone’ for Microgaming, and is the international standard that sets out a structure to help businesses develop an efficient environmental management programme. This approval follows its commitment to sustainability, which ‘reinforces its commitment to improving its environmental impact over the long term.’

Microgaming’s certification also follows on from the technology provider’s existing initiatives through its PlayItForward CSR programme, which aims to guide its business as well as the local community on the Isle of Man towards a greener and more sustainable future.

Microgaming’s 45,000 square feet headquarters in July 2017 was one of the first privately owned office buildings on the Isle of Man to receive a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ sustainability ranking. In addition , the company has also made a concerted effort in recent years to reduce waste generated at ICE London.

Microgaming revealed numerous environmentally friendly activities including the hiring of a full-time environmental coordinator in an attempt to maintain to improve its BREEAM ranking.
