MGM Resorts To Be Presenting Sponsor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade

For the 11th consecutive year, MGM Resorts International has been appointed as the presenting sponsor of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade.

39th edition of the annual parade

The Las Vegas group will join in a virtual way to engage in the 39th edition of the annual parade on Monday 18 January, with a multitude of MGM employees also expected to honour King’s legacy.

Virtual offering

The non-profit group that prepares and hosts the parade, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr Committee, promises that the virtual offering this year will include a range of entertainment, including DJs, marching bands, dancers, and more.

Public officials and members of non-profit organizations in the region are also scheduled to take part in an event featuring the involvement of MGM Resorts since 2003.

Employees to honour King’s legacy

Via involvement in many service initiatives during the month, hundreds of MGM Resorts employees around the nation will honour King’s legacy.

Among those who volunteers plan to help are making masks for children fighting cancer, planting trees in a park in memory of COVID-19 victims, writing letters to the elderly and feeding those in need.

What was said…

Jyoti Chopra, chief people, inclusion and sustainability officer for MGM Resorts International said: “During the COVID-19 pandemic we’ve taken the opportunity to come together, with our diverse backgrounds, as neighbours and colleagues to help our communities during this devastating time. It’s an action, I imagine, Dr. King would have encouraged us take.

“He had a vision, a dream, of what our world would look like if we joined together to stand up for equality and freedom for all; and that starts with us, in our local communities.”

Glassdoor was branded ‘Best Place to Work in 2021’ by MGM Resorts and Entain’s BetMGM US joint venture earlier this week, which offers insights into employment and organizations.

The placement falls in the Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Awards, which are aimed at honouring managers who build great working environments and are judged solely on company employees’ elected feedback.
