MGM Resorts has improved the Convene with Confidence scheme, one of the most robust health and safety programmes in the meeting sector, with the aim of getting businesses back to doing business in person.
With expanded capability constraints in Nevada, the company is now accepting bigger audiences and giving meeting planners the option of on-site molecular COVID-19 testing for highly reliable outcomes for activities big and small.
Convene with confidence
MGM Resorts has successfully held close to 300 meetings and groups under the permitted size limits using the guidelines outlined in the programme since rolling out its Convene with Confidence strategy in September 2020 with a choice for attendee testing in conjunction with CLEAR, Cue Health, and Impact Health.
The Vegas Golden Knights, who have been testing CLEAR’s Health Pass for entertainment and sporting activities, recently started using it for CDC health survey screening – handling thousands of fans at T-Mobile Arena per game night – showing that it is a seamless and effective operation, even at scale.
Better and safer guest experience
Bill Hornbuckle, CEO and President of MGM, said: “Convene with Confidence is a result of close consultation with health experts and our increased focus on leveraging innovation to not only provide a better guest experience – but a safer one as well.
“MGM Resorts has long been at the forefront of the rapidly evolving hospitality and events industries. We are confident we’ve built a program that enables companies to meet in person, giving them peace of mind as they do so.”
Senior Vice President and Chief Sales Officer Stephanie Glanzer added: “Meetings and conventions are critical to our company and to Las Vegas, in addition to the organisations putting on these programs. Developing Convene with Confidence, a completely customizable program, with multiple options for planners and attendees, reflects our deep commitment to the future health of the meetings industry.”
Convene with Confidence is a collection of detailed guidelines that provide health and safety considerations in every phase of the convention and meeting planning process. Efforts range from smart event preparation to contactless check-in to improved maintenance schedules for shared areas, with a focus on high-contact areas like doorknobs and food contact surfaces.
Several innovations are now completely operational within the Convene with Confidence ecosystem, including the optional COVID-19 monitoring protocol, which provides quick results and encourages event organisers to build a perimeter for their activities and exhibits.
