LA Poker Rooms Close 2 Weeks After Opening

California Governor Gavin Newsom has instructed Los Angeles poker rooms to close their doors once again, just two weeks after reopening.

Commerce Casino, Bicycle Hotel & Casino, Hollywood Park Casino, Hawaiian Gardens Casino, Hustler Casino have all been forced to shut down as a result.

The governor said that COVID-19 spread in California at a ‘alarming rate,’ prompting him to close not only card rooms, but also businesses like dine-in restaurants, movie theatres, wineries and museums in LA County and 18 other counties.

One Bicycle Casino spokesperson said: “We understand these are challenging times and may need access to your funds. To assist our patrons with essential transactions, our cage cashier will remain open this week and by appointment beginning July 4th. Payouts will be issued by papercheck.”

Commerce Casino added: “Due to the revised Governor’s order, The Commerce Casino is currently closed. Cage transactions may be conducted next Tues & Wed, July 7 & 8, 2020 between 11am and 4pm. Continue to follow us on social media for updates. We cannot wait to welcome you back to our beloved Casino.”
