Online gaming operator Kindred Group began its march through the US following initial ten-year alliance with Penn National Gaming to obtain access to a pair of jurisdictions.
Following successful entry into New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Indiana, Kindred would gain more market access by signing agreements with Penn National Gaming that will carry Ohio and Illinois in.
The group is to operate online gaming and online sports betting alongside the casino operator, pending passage of relevant laws and obtaining the required gaming licences from both parties.
Undertaken through the Unibet flagship brand of Kindred, the link-up provides the community with access to seek licencing in Illinois, via Argosy Casino Alton, and via Hollywood Casino Ohio.
Kindred Group is committed to continuing to invest in increasing its operations in the US where market conditions foster a sustainable business model. Kindred would exploit the online gaming network of Pala Interactive and integrate with the sports betting provider Kambi, as communicated in previous nationwide expansion efforts.
Manuel Stan, SVP Kindred US, said of the group’s latest state of entry: “Extending our footprint in the US by establishing our brand in two key states like Illinois and Ohio is very exciting for us. We continue our journey in what we believe will become the largest gambling market in the world.
“Putting Illinois and Ohio on the list together with New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Iowa and Indiana, shows our commitment to establishing Unibet in the US. Illinois is one of the largest US states and it will be the next state that we are targeting to launch.”
Kindred outlined in July the first stage of its inked multi-state access agreement with Caesars Entertainment earlier in the year.
The company has added Indiana to its online casino and sportsbook operations within New Jersey and Pennsylvania, in collaboration with the casino operator’s Horseshoe Hammond land.
