Kinded Group Continues Progress With Sustainability Objectives

Despite a minor increase in revenues earned from harmful gaming, Kindred Group Plc, which operates the Unibet brand in the US sports betting market, continues to make progress on its group-wide business sustainability objectives.

The group’s proportion of gross win income from high-risk players increased from 3.9 percent to 4.3 percent during the second quarter, according to its latest “safer gambling update.”

Regardless of the 0.4 percent increase, Kindred stated that their customer service performance remained at 76.9 percent successful in increasing safer gaming outcomes after interventions.

The Stockholm-listed operator disclosed that currently, 91 percent of its client base is made up of ‘recreational/social’ (71.4 percent) and ‘low-risk’ (19.5 percent) gamers.

Early Detection System (PS-EDS)

The group’s proprietary-built ‘Early Detection System’ (PS-EDS) continues to monitor all client engagements and behaviours across its global portfolio of brands.

Kindred management and customer service teams receive PS-EDS data and analysis to improve player behaviours and interventions.

Group CEO Henrik Tjärnström acknowledged sustained progress on the firm’s sustainability goal of producing 0 percent of revenues from high-risk customers by 2023 ahead of the release of its interim results on July 23.

“During the past quarter we have continued to see a positive and constructive dialogue across the industry in terms of achieving a more sustainable gambling market” he remarked.

“Ensuring that the discussion continues to take place, and that it is fact-based, is vital if we are to achieve the ambition we have set. Despite our revenue increasing slightly this quarter, which is an expected fluctuation, we remain dedicated and focused on our journey towards zero.”
