As part of an exclusive content agreement with the sportsbook operator, Kenny “The Jet” Smith, a two-time NBA Champion and analyst for TNT’s Sports Emmy Award-winning show Inside the NBA, will join the FanDuel Group squad.
Smith will feature in FanDuel ads and TNT advertisements promoting free-to-play competitions as a result of this new agreement, which makes the organisation Smith’s official sports betting and daily fantasy provider. Smith will also contribute original material on the FanDuel Group’s social media platforms.
In addition to Smith joining the team as an official participant, FanDuel will launch a new free-to-play game specifically for Turner Sports, which will feature between eight and twelve Over/Under style questions.
For the remainder of the NBA season, players will be able to compete with Smith for Over/Under supremacy each night. Within the NBA and NBA on TNT will feature FanDuel Over/Under, which will allow fans to bid for a share of a $5,000 bonus pool.
“Partnering with FanDuel has been a great addition to Inside the NBA,” said Smith. “I am looking forward to collaborating with FanDuel on future projects, as well as, interacting with our viewers each night through FanDuel’s new free to play game that will become a bigger part of our broadcasts.”
FanDuel Group became the official sportsbook affiliate for NBA programming on Turner Sports properties, including Bleacher Report content integrations, in July 2020. Since last year’s NBA playoffs, Smith and fellow FanDuel partner Barkley have been educating fans on sports betting through FanDuel Sportsbook integrations.
‘Trademark humour and insight’
Turner Sports’ Executive Vice President of Sports Partnerships and Branded Content, Will Funk said: “Over his 23 years with Turner Sports, Kenny’s trademark humour and insight has stirred the pot and helped make Inside the NBA one of the best shows on television. We’re excited to feature him as part of FanDuel’s branded content across our NBA programming.”
Pat McAfee and the PMI Team, as well as Charles Barkley, World Wide Wob, Cousin Sal, and JJ Zachariason, are among FanDuel’s extensive roster of unique sports betting talent and influencers.
A beloved NBA analyst
Mike Raffensperger, Chief Marketing Officer of FanDuel Group added: “Kenny Smith is an NBA Champion, a beloved NBA analyst, the all-time assist leader at the University of North Carolina and someone whose magnetic personality and smile brings people together.
He added: “We love Kenny on TV every Thursday night, but it’s his positivity and tireless dedication to the community that made us want to add his voice to our brand roster of sports personalities.”
