Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury Odds: Fury Favoured In Miami Bout

The subject of ‘YouTube boxing’ has been an extremely divisive one amongst fans of the sport.

Purists hate it and always will, but there is no doubt that it has attracted new eyes and a different demographic to the sport, leading to the latest step in the fledgling career of Jake Paul.

Paul is embarking on his fifth professional bout having recently faced former NBA player Nate Robinson and ex-UFC stars Ben Askren and Tyrone Woodley in crossover bouts. Paul has won all of his professional fights so far leaving him 4-0 as he faces another boxer with professional wins on his record for the first time.

Fury is 7-0 in his professional career since debuting in December 2018, albeit against seven opponents who have a combined professional record of 4-175. That has left many to question what level the 22-year-old can operate at in the pro ranks and that will certainly be put to bed if he loses to a YouTuber.

His father, John Fury, says his son will be forced to retire if he loses next month’s bout, commenting: “I see Tommy splattering Jake Paul all over the ring, within four to five rounds. If he doesn’t, it’s over for him. He knows that. No pressure Tommy lad, but let me tell you, you will be called Tommy Fumbles as well… if it’s a close fight, Tommy’s retired.

“If Tommy struggles to beat him, he’s retired from boxing [because Jake Paul] is a YouTuber. He’s gotta be knocking Jake Paul out.”

Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury Tips

It’s somewhat difficult to make a bold prediction for this particular fight given that we have seen pretty limited action from both fighters in their respective careers against boxers of varying levels.

Neither fighter has demonstrated devastating KO power that would be enough to convince us of either winning by stoppage. As such, we like the look of the fight going the distance at 1/1.

If pushed to give a prediction we would side with Fury winning by decision. The 22-year-old will have Tyson Fury training him and in his corner and that extra level of experience and knowhow should make the difference, albeit it may have to be in convincing fashion to get the decision in Miami.
