IR Council Of Yokohama Discuss Criteria For Operator Recruitment

The IR Council of Yokohama held its first meeting and addressed the conditions for the recruitment of operators.

The Council is headed by Mayor Fumiko Hayashi and is made up of six members: Kanagawa Prefecture Governor Yuji Kuroiwa, Chairman of the Yokohama Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chairman of the Yokohama City Community Associations Association, Chairman of the Prefectural Public Safety Commission, and Chairman of the Yokohama City University Association.

Mayor Hayashi said during the meeting: “An IR is not just a casino but a facility of international conference halls and entertainment facilities. We expect it to have an unprecedented impact on tourism and growth of the local economy.”

She stressed the significance of an IR offer to support the local economy and to improve the finances of the region.

Governor Yuji Kuroiwa said: “We will respect the judgment of the city and would like to cooperate fully. Security measures and addiction measures are important tasks for the prefecture and police, and I would like to work with the city to overcome the problems.”
