Internet Vikings, a European provider of hosting, domain names, and brand traffic control services, has received certification for its Information Security Management System (ISMS).
The Stockholm-registered company’s compliance activities with “the highest international information security standards” have been confirmed by the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification.
Over the last year, Internet Vikings has “worked tirelessly” to ensure that its clients’ data is well protected and that its company practises follow stringent industry protection standards.
Comprehensive on-site auditing of a wide variety of a company’s activities, including digital device protection and intellectual property, HR procedures, and real physical security of facilities, are all part of the tests.
Result of certification
Customers of the IT-provider should also assume “systematic management of information security risks, integrity, and availability of personal and corporate data” as a result of the certification.
The firm’s attempts to satisfy these standards were recently recognised with certification, and is generally regarded as the most reputable quality an organisation can obtain in terms of checking its compliance and data privacy commitments.
Victor Jerlin, CTO of Internet Vikings said: “ISO 27001 is a quality mark of the service we provide. It’s one more example of the many steps Internet Vikings has taken to assure our global customer base that we take security seriously and that our policies, procedures and practices comply with the highest regulatory requirements.”
Svensk Certifiering Norden AB is an autonomous third-party inspector that is accredited by the Swedish Board for Accreditation and Conformity Assessment (SWEDAC) to conduct ISMS 27001 certifications.
Svensk certified that Internet Vikings has all of the requisite formalised IT security measures and procedures in place to avoid unauthorised access and vulnerability, as well as that the company’s staff are “suitably trained, knowledgeable, and capable” of adhering to ISO 27001 standards.
Data encryption, risk detection, security-by-design software creation, and disaster recovery plans are among the resources that the organisation presently provides for implementation.
Internet Vikings CEO Peter Ekmark added: “I am very happy to announce that Internet Vikings is now ISO 27001 Certified.
“Our entire organisation has been involved and everyone worked tirelessly to make it happen. This cements our role as an industry leader and I can’t wait to pass the benefits of this achievement on to our clients.”
Following the introduction of a new cloud hosting site in Singapore, Internet Vikings has greatly increased its footprint in the Southeast Asian market.
Furthermore, the organisation has made a number of new hires in the last year, including Andreas Soll in December 2020 and Stefan Backland in March 2020.
