Sports betting service and content hub IMG ARENA announced that it has secured rights to provide live streams of selected NHL games to US sports betting operators.
The company stated in a statement that the launch offers yet another indication of its capabilities when it comes to live NHL streaming for sports betting operators and builds on the European market offering of the content centre.
Freddie Longe, MD and EVP said: “The NHL is a highly-valued asset in our portfolio, and we are proud to expand this successful partnership to offer one of the largest US sports to our growing customer base of sportsbooks.
“This marks a major development in the US betting rights landscape, and we look forward to driving further engagement for NHL fans.”
In addition, streams of the US sports betting operator are set to be made available in legalised US markets through its digital betting platforms.
NHL Executive Vice President for Digital Media and Strategic Planning, Steve McArdle added: “We are excited about the expansion of our international relationship with IMG ARENA into the US.
“The NHL has taken a progressive approach to sports betting, and this live game streaming opportunity with IMG ARENA provides another innovative touchpoint for fan engagement.”
The deal is expected to enhance not only the value of IMG ARENA, as the company is looking to build on its 2019 performance that saw 175 million hours of content viewed by 56 million unique viewers around the globe, but also consumers of the entertainment centre that already encompasses the ATP, UFC, European and PGA Golf Tours, the FA Cup and Serie A.
