International Game Technology PLC has just told the public that FanDuel Group’s sportsbook mobile app in Virginia will be powered by its powerful PlaySports network.
IGT and FanDuel Group have joined forces in 12 American states to provide cutting edge sports betting solutions.
Since 2018, International Game Technology has been a platform supplier for FanDuel Sportsbooks. It is also a supplier to Meadowlands Racing and Entertainment in East Rutherford, N.J., one of the most popular sportsbooks in the US. Recently, IGT and FanDuel Group signed an agreement allowing the IGT sportsbook network to become the exclusive retail supplier for the U.S. industry.
Virginia will become one of the newest states to sell the FanDuel Sportsbook app, thanks to the new agreement. New Jersey, Tennessee, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Indiana, Illinois and Iowa, as a reminder, are already giving players around the US the same solution.
Senior Vice President and General Manager at FanDuel Sportsbook, Niall Connell, speaking on the latest delivery, said: “We are excited to continue to grow our geographical and operational footprint with the launch of legal sports betting in the Commonwealth of Virginia late last week. These are complex launches with individualised state-by-state requirements that require experienced partners like IGT.”
Senior Vice President Enrico Drago of IGT PlayDigital noted: “We are proud of the role IGT has played in helping FanDuel Group build the player-preferred sports betting solution in the U.S. market. The IGT PlaySports platform is aiding FanDuel as it scales new market opportunities such as its recent launch in Virginia and enabling FanDuel to deliver its multi-state sports betting enterprise.”
