New York listed gaming technology and lottery services provider IGT Plc has moved to improve its corporate governance and general counsel by announcing Beatrice H. Bassey’s appointment as an independent consultant.
Bassey’s strategic role will see the IGT governance executive on group legal supervision, and assist the company’s executive leadership team on ongoing regulatory guidelines relevant to new markets.
A leading legal specialist and industry consultant for emerging markets, Bassey is the current LSE listed African-focused private equity company Atlas Mara as General Counsel and Compliance Officer.
Bassey also sits on the board of the Union Bank of Nigeria Plc, the Banking Company of Botswana and the Banque Populaire du Rwanda.
Lorenzo Pellicioli, IGT Chairman said: “Beatrice’s extensive experience in the highly dynamic and regulated banking sector, in addition to her extensive international exposure, are valuable perspectives to add to IGT’s board.”
IGT also reported in its update that board member Paget Alves had elected not to stand for re-election, ending his service on IGT’s Audit and Compensation Committees for 10 years.
This week, IGT announced Max Chiara’s appointment as inbound Group CFO, ending his four-month executive hunt to succeed Alberto Fornaro, who left the organisation late last year.
