International Game Technology (IGT) has been the first provider of gaming to be recertified for both its interactive and gaming segments by the Global Gambling Guidance Community (G4). The firm obtained responsible re-accreditation for its IGT Gaming and PlayDigital operations this week.
In 2017 and 2019, respectively, IGT earned G4 responsible gaming certification for its land-based casino segment and digital services , making it the first supplier to be accredited for both segments. G4 re-evaluated the company simultaneously for both divisions this year.
Senior Vice President, Global Brand, Marketing, and Communications, Wendy Montgomery, said: “As the gaming industry leader serving customers around the world, IGT recognizes the importance of developing and delivering innovative, research-based responsible gaming technologies and services across our business segments.
“This independent certification reinforces IGT’s position as a highly responsible vendor, emphasizing the effectiveness of our solutions in helping operators protect their players.”
Through supporting a worldwide accreditation programme for gaming industry operators and vendors, G4 seeks to mitigate the effects of problem gambling. IGT was independently reviewed to ensure that it satisfies industry expectations for delivering player safety instruments and responsible gaming information on its IGT Gaming and PlayDigital product platforms in order to retain G4 certification.
The organisation had to show its responsible gaming contribution to science, policy growth, and employee training as part of G4 ‘s assessment.
The Chairman of the G4 Board of Directors, Pieter Remmers, commented: “In a world where responsible gaming standards are becoming more and more important, and regulations regarding this are a top priority, IGT’s operations fully understand this and act accordingly. G4 is happy and proud to have IGT as an accredited member.”
