After scoring the record breaking goal that made him England’s all-time leading scorer against Italy last week, Harry Kane is widely anticipated to complete his transfer to Manchester United during the summer.
It is believed that Kane is prepared to move to Old Trafford to add a trophy to his already impressive collection of accomplishments and that Erik ten Hag has prioritised Kane as his top transfer target for the upcoming summer.
Kane, who will turn 30 in July, is desperate to win trophies and is aware that he will need to move to do so. Kane has established himself as the all-time leading goalscorer for both Tottenham and England.
The fact that Kane has scored so many goals (55 for England and 271 for Spurs) provides a straightforward answer to the question of what value Kane will add to United and why Ten Hag is so eager to sign him. This is where Kane’s primary strength lies.
Since Cristiano Ronaldo’s contentious departure from Manchester United in November, the Red Devils have been without a prolific No. 9 to lead their attack. Wout Weghorst was brought in on loan to fill the role until the end of the current season.
What About Marcus Rashford?
Marcus Rashford has been a major goal-scoring contributor for Manchester United this season. He currently has 27 goals to his name, and there is a little under a third of the season left to play.
However, Rashford’s preferred position is wide left, which allows him to cut inside and drive at defenders. This would free up Kane to lead United’s attack and relieve some of the goal-scoring pressure that is placed on his England teammate.
However, Kane is capable of much more than just scoring goals. In particular, his most notable attributes are his link-up play and his ability to hold the ball up and bring others into the action.
He can score with either foot, is extremely productive with his head, can drop deep to pick up the ball, and has the vision and intelligence to match his underrated passing range. He can score with either foot. In all essentials, he exemplifies the ideal player.
In light of this, United fans would immediately warm up to Kane, and there would be no need for a period of adjustment or getting used to his presence at the club.
Other England Players
Kane’s transition to Manchester United would be facilitated to the greatest extent possible by his prior experience with England teammates, including Rashford, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, and Jadon Sancho.
Ten Hag is convinced that Kane and Rashford’s link up at club level could give United one of the most dangerous attacks in Europe. With Antony and Sancho vying for the right flank, with the creativity of Bruno Fernandes and Christian Eriksen behind them, and underpinned by the security provided by Brazil star Casemiro. Kane and Rashford know each other’s games inside and out.
Kane’s professionalism is one of his greatest attributes, alongside his work ethic and goal-scoring ability. Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate is a fan of Kane’s self control and how he inspires those who play alongside him in the England setup. Kane’s prowess in front of goal has earned him praise from Southgate.
Kane is the epitome of a modern professional athlete because he lives a lifestyle that ensures he gets the most out of his talent and maximises his chances of success. This strategy has been validated by the records that he has broken, so it can be said that Kane is the best example of a modern professional athlete.
But trophies are the one thing that Kane has not been able to acquire up to this point. Few would bet against Kane adding trophies to his name when – as expected – he pulls on the famous red shirt this summer. With United on the up under Ten Hag, who ended their six-year wait for silverware with the Carabao Cup last month, few would bet against Ten Hag. Few would bet against Kane adding trophies to his name.
