After announcing Martin Lycka ‘s promotion to the newly formed position of Senior Vice President of US Regulatory Affairs & Responsible Gambling, GVC Holdings has continued to restructure its global senior management team.
Lycka formally served as GVC’s Regulatory Affairs Director (2018-2020), overseeing the management of regulatory stakeholders, group-wide licencing standards and enforcement controls and evaluations of the FTSE100 business.
GVC said that the promotion of Lycka will see the firm maintain a dedicated regulatory affairs policy to meet the fragmented state-by – state licencing requirements of US wagering.
In his position, Lycka will be tasked with leading the North American responsible gambling initiatives of GVC, in which the executive has formally formed long-term strategic relationships secured through the ‘US Foundation’ of GVC with the Harvard Medical School and the US National Council on Problem Gaming.
In addition, GVC indicated that, within the Canada and LatAm markets, Lycka would take care of evolving regulatory scenarios. The role would see Lycka initially divide his duties between the United Kingdom and the United States, where the manager would ultimately move.
Lycka said of his new position: “I am very thrilled about my new role. It will allow me to build upon the work GVC and the GVC Foundation US have done to bring responsibility, sporting integrity and regulation to life in the US and support the Group’s wider objectives.”
