Greentube has announced that its online gaming entity, StarGames, is planning to enter the market in Germany and will apply for a national licence in the country as new legislation comes into force in July 2021.
StarGames is taking “all steps necessary” to ensure that its offering complies with the guidelines and legislation adopted to encourage social responsibility and reduce gambling-related damage as part of the preparations for its debut.
These include a reality check feature, spin intervals of five seconds, cooling-off times, a monthly deposit limit, and caps for stakes and time, as well as a ban on autoplay and progressive jackpots.
Trevor De Giorgio, managing director of Greentube Malta said: “We’re very excited about being able to fully operate in the regulated German market, and for players across the whole of Germany to be able to enjoy the fresh StarGames.
“We proved before in Schleswig-Holstein that we have the games, the technology, the knowhow and the security to offer players transparent, safe, top-quality gaming. While the new regulations certainly bring with them new challenges, we’re looking forward to once again delivering the best product and entertainment possible.”
The operator has recently published a landing page in anticipation of the growth in the newly controlled German online gaming market, enabling those interested to keep up to date with the latest developments around the brand. With its licenced operations in the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein, the brand, operated by Greentube Malta, has previous experience in the German industry.
Greentube Malta, which will continue to run the brand, is currently applying for a licence from the Malta Gaming Authority and will attempt to add a German igaming licence as soon as it becomes available.
Laszlo Pados, Greentube’s brand manager, added: “There’s still a long way to go until the German market opens next July, but we’re already working on a lot of exciting features to make sure that the new version of StarGames.de will be a true market leader in the eyes of our customers.”
