Greece submits Legalisation For €2 Limit On RND Games

Random number generator games advertisement is expected to be severely restricted as stated in the draught gaming legislation submitted to the European Commission by the Greek Ministry of Finance.

The bill comes as the Ministry of Finance tries to introduce stricter restrictions on the gambling industry.

Random number generator games, as stated in the legislation, will be subject to a total stake of € 2, with a maximum profit per gaming session set at € 5,000.

Jackpot games will also face additional restrictions, with payouts expected to be limited to a maximum of € 500,000.

The draught legislation also defines restrictions to be imposed on random number generator games ads, whereby games can only be advertised on the premises where they can be played.

Certain types of online gaming, including sports betting, poker and other casino games will not be subject to commercial restrictions. Nevertheless, an age limit of 21 years and over will come into force.

Restrictions will also be in effect for the operators who were blacklisted in the 12 months prior to submitting their application, as they are now unable to obtain a licence.
