The Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) has announced the introduction of virtual sports betting as part of a collaboration with 1X2 Network that will further expand its sportsbook solution and sell it to operators.
The latest virtual portfolio of GiG includes instant horse racing, greyhound racing, trotting, Velodrome, speedway and football, as well as horse racing and tennis schedules.
Chris Armes, GiG’s chief information officer, reflected on the most recent partnership: “Partnering with 1X2 Network allows us to offer a quality virtual sports portfolio with realistic 3D games for some of the most popular on-demand sports betting games.
“This allows operators to increase their offering placing them at the forefront of sports betting.”
The new virtual platform would give operators the ability to offer players the ability to participate on-demand and remotely communicate with their favourite sports in the same way they will with live sports, thus increasing the betting choices.
GiG announced earlier this month that it plans to divest its entire B2C business from Stockholm’s Betsson AB counterpart in full by mid-April.
Due to the deal, GiG will use its divestment proceeds to repay its corporate bond of SEK 300 million (€27 million), thereby improving the balance sheets of the company.
