Geo-location technology specialist GeoComply has been named as the tournament’s title sponsor with the second Remote Darts League due to begin today.
The RDL will invite 16 players, consisting of four first-ranked RDL finalists and 12 top-ranked players from around the world: four women and eight men.
David Briggs, CEO of GeoComply said: “It’s great to see four top North American darts players including Larry Butler, Stacey Pace, Joe Chaney and David Cameron in the new GeoComply Remote Darts League.
“With league approval from regulators in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, the 120+ matches will be traded across a range of US sportsbooks.”
With the 16 participants from 10 countries across three continents, the RDL is expected to draw foreign audiences.
With sports tournaments still largely on hold around the globe, the GeoComply Remote Darts League has been dubbed a ‘fantastic advertisement for live international sport’ that could reach beyond lockdown.
Kevin Dale from host organisation Farawaysports added: “It’s certainly ambitious. RDL1 was a challenge, but through the platform supplier FSB we were able to establish a unique live contest complete with data feeds, odds feeds, video feeds, Youtube channels and widespread bookmaker distribution across Europe. This time round, we’re going global.”
GeoComply is sponsoring the @RemoteDarts League starting May 18. With league approval from regulators in NJ and PA, the 120+ matches will be available across a range of US sportsbooks via the @Sportradar feed. https://t.co/dAjF1ftK2e #GeolocationYouCanBetOn pic.twitter.com/BCxmSPU2FP
