Gaming1 Praises It’s Circus Club Brand On First Birthday

The popularity of its Circus Club brand in France has been praised by gaming and sports betting operator Gaming1, identifying its Paris-based venue for particular praise as the venue celebrates its first birthday.

The group is in the process of building up a land-based network for its Circus brand, for expansion in mind, as well as conducting a joint venture with JOA, which operates more than 30 French-based casinos.

Gaming1 currently operates a total of 42 gaming halls and casino resorts in Belgium, Switzerland and France and manages a portfolio of 20 online operations worldwide in regulated markets.

Sylvain Boniver, the COO and co-founder of Gaming1, stated: “Our teams in France are doing an incredible job and it is a very proud moment for everyone at Gaming1 to see the Circus brand expand so rapidly and with so much success in the country.”

Circus Club Paris, which was launched in September 2019, was only possible in January 2018 following the decision by the French government to allow such gambling clubs in the capital.

Despite the difficulties of the past year, including the winter strikes in Paris, the opening of a variety of new competitors in the area, and the closure of venues for three months due to COVID-19, the operator says that both attendance and turnover targets have been met by the facility.

Sébastien Leclercq, Circus Casino’s country manager for France, commented: “We have been delighted with how the Circus Club Paris has performed over the past 12 months, despite the obvious challenges, and with five land-based casinos it’s clear that the brand is growing rapidly in France.

“We have ambitious plans to further this growth over the next few years and the launch of the Circusbet.fr platform will be a major contributory factor, giving customers the opportunity to enjoy Circus from home and benefit from our fully omni-channel approach.”

When the club reopened in June, a targeted poster campaign was launched in September across the city and a scaled-down, COVID-secure first birthday party took place last month with 80 of the most loyal patrons of the club.
