Game Lounge has reported this week that it has entered into an agreement to purchase the premium domain name of the affiliate site Betting.com through its holding company Game Lounge Sweden AB.
The company described the acquisition in a statement as “…the next step in Game Lounge’s diversification strategy and expansion into the US market.” This week’s announcement follows the news earlier this year about the company’s acquisition of Panorama Partners Ltd (Bettingmetrics), a company described in betting sector as having strong product emphasis.
Founder of Game Lounge, Jonas Cederholm, spoke more about the transaction and its significance in the context of the emerging US sports wagering industry. He remarked: “This acquisition is part of our strategy to expand our position in attractive and fast-growing verticals. The US online sports betting market is growing fast and estimated to be worth over $5bn in 2025.
“We see a great fit with our most recent investment in Bettingmetrics. It gives us the opportunity to improve our market position in the US and supports our mission to become the leading sports betting community in the US and beyond.”
The company also stated, in its announcement, that Bettingmetrics will be rebranded as Betting.com in the coming weeks. It added: “We look forward to working with both new and existing customers on this project.”
