The begambleaware.org website has been relaunched by GambleAware, the UK’s commissioning charity for gambling damage prevention, care support and research.
The charity has opted to integrate the content of its about.begambleaware.org corporate website with its begambleaware.org public domain, thereby providing a central portal for all users and partners.
“By combining the content on one site we hope to make it easier for all stakeholders and beneficiaries to access the information they need,” the charity said in a statement.
Although this Christmas the new website has been pushed online, in January GambleAware will plan to officially launch its begambleaware.org portal. In order to improve the user journey, the amended site will be revised with both technological and interactive provisions.
The charity will also hold its 8th annual ‘GambleAware Conference’ in the new year, which will be held online on 28 January 2021. The event will bring together both national health partners and syndicated gambling harm reduction charities to address the latest UK funding mechanisms on the management of gambling harms and their long-term efficacy capabilities.
The last GambleAware Conference organised by Chief Executive Marc Etches will be January’s online gathering, which will officially end his leadership tenure at the end of March 2021.
GambleAware has yet to announce its successor to Etches. Kate Lampard CBE, the board of trustees and chair, is currently undertaking an executive search to find the next leader of the charity ahead of critical 2021 legal proceedings as the UK government undertakes a review of the Gambling Act of 2005.
