Gamban Teams Up With Problem Gambling Help Network of West Virginia

The Problem Gambling Help Network of West Virginia has teamed with Gamban to make its online gambling blocking software available for free to people in the region who need their services.

Once a person signs up for the Gamban service, the software is designed to be as tough to remove as the devices allow, in the hopes of striking the perfect balance between security and intrusion.

Extra resource and layer of protection

Melissa Etherington, partnerships manager at Gamban, said of the firm’s latest collaboration: “I am very pleased to be working with The Problem Gambling Help Network of West Virginia, and happy that this partnership will provide an extra resource and layer of protection for those whose gambling has become a problem for them in West Virginia.”

The West Virginia Problem Gambling Help Network was founded in 2000 and has since assisted over 15,000 persons with gambling addiction through a network of over 70 state-wide therapists for treatment referrals.

A 24-hour helpline, referrals to gambling addiction experts, support groups, and retreat weekends are all part of the state-wide programme, which also offers training, prevention, and outreach programmes.

The sixth “most gambling-addicted” state

According to the National Council on Issue Gambling, one in every 50 Mountain State citizens may have a gambling problem in 2019. In a 2021 survey, personal financial website WalletHub called West Virginia the sixth “most gambling-addicted” state.

Jennifer Davis-Walton, director of Gambling Addiction Services at First Choice Services added: “It is exciting to partner with Gamban to provide a valuable tool for so many.

“With more accessibility to online gambling, the benefits of Gamban software are immeasurable for those experiencing gambling problems.”

The Problem Gambling Help Network of West Virginia joins the ranks of the New Jersey Council on Compulsive Gambling, Kindred Group, FanDuel, and RG24seven in a series of US-based agreements that will run through 2021.
