The 2021 Formula 1 season has been one of the most exciting in recent seasons, with the Drivers’ Championship going right down to the wire.
The endless twists and turns of the 19 races that have taken place so far will likely see the fate of the championship decided within the final race of the year when the action for 2021 draws to a close in Abu Dhabi.
Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen are the only two contenders remaining following an epic battle that sees them separated by just 14 points.
It is the latter who leads the seven-time world champion with three races to go, creating the possibility of them being level on points heading into Abu Dhabi should we get the same result as Brazil over the next two races.
Hamilton came out on top in Brazil in incredible circumstances, overcoming starting last in the sprint race before coming from 10th on the grid to finish first on Sunday. It also came despite a controversial incident between the pair that saw Verstappen avoid a penalty for driving both cars off the road as Hamilton attempted an overtake.
The final Mercedes upgrades of the season have appeared to make a significant difference to the overall performance of the car, particularly on the straights in Sao Paulo and it will be interesting to see how that translates to the final three tracks.

- Lewis Hamilton – 10/11
- Max Verstappen – 10/11
Formula 1 Constructors’ Championship 2021 Odds
- Mercedes – 4/7
- Red Bull – 11/8
Formula 1 Driver-Constructor Double 2021 Odds
- Hamilton and Mercedes – 13/10
- Verstappen and Mercedes – 9/4
- Verstappen and Red Bull – 10/3
- Hamilton and Red Bull – 13/2
There really is nothing to split the two drivers when it comes to the odds, with both locked at 10/11, as has been the case for a prolonged period of the season.
When it comes to the Constructors’ Championship, Mercedes have an 11-point advantage over Red Bull and the better performance of Valterri Bottas over Sergio Perez has likely led to the German engineers being the favourites in this market. Bottas has scored 203 points this season compared to Perez’s 178.
As for the double, the Hamilton-Mercedes combo is slightly favoured over the Verstappen-Mercedes combo at 13/10 and 9/4 respectively. This weekend’s Qatar Grand Prix is currently favoured towards Hamilton at 4/6, while Verstappen can be backed to win at 13/8 as the bookmakers clearly expect a repeat of last weekend’s result.
