As its new Vice President of Corporate Communications, FanDuel Group welcomed marketing and communications veteran Chris Jones this week. Jones now leads communications, corporate affairs and the development of the company’s corporate social responsibility strategy within its DFS, sportsbook and casino companies across FanDuel’s portfolio of online and retail brands.
He will be responsible for highlighting the financial performance of the FanDuel Group in coordination with Flutter, its parent company. He will also lead the company’s policy and dedication to promoting responsible gaming, expanding its brand and media partnerships, and the diversity and social justice platform of the company.
Jones is based in the New York office of FanDuel and reports to Mike Raffensperger, CMO of FanDuel, who said: “Chris is an experienced communications leader with proven and tested experience that FanDuel requires at this critical juncture in our company’s development. His track record of providing strategic communications know-how to both clients, and as in-house counsel to brands is important as we look to leverage our explosive growth trajectory.”
Jones brings over 25 years of diverse experience in increasing authority positions, delivering go-to-market strategies in business and financial communications, advertising, media, advertising technology and crisis response.
He was most recently Interpublic Group’s Global Chief Communications Officer for IPG Mediabrands, the Interpublic Group’s media, marketing and data division. Jones was responsible for creating and executing a coordinated approach to marketing investments including brand, internal and external communications, customer events, as well as social channels of the company across the global network of Mediabrands in this role.
FanDuel Group CEO Matt King said: “Chris is a measured and seasoned executive with strong crisis management skills and experience communicating complex business issues.
“As we continue to be a leader in the evolving landscape of legalised sports wagering, I am delighted to have someone with his depth and breadth of experience on our team.”
