DraftKings and BetMGM Enter Wyoming

After launching digital sports betting systems in Wyoming, DraftKings and BetMGM have made their 13th and 14th state entries, respectively.

Customers in Wyoming can now use DraftKings’ mobile sportsbook app to wager on a variety of markets across professional and collegiate sports as of yesterday.

Matt Kalish, co-founder and president, DraftKings North America said: “Legalised sports betting has seen wide-spread growth in just three years and the DraftKings Sportsbook has been at the centre of the action.

“We are thrilled that Wyoming sports bettors have the opportunity to experience the highly accessible and immersive fan experience along with best in class consumer protections that our product offers millions of skin-in-the-game sports fans.”

DraftKings will provide all Wyoming customers two Double Your Money opportunities as part of the launch.

In addition, DraftKings is hosting an earth-themed free-to-play pool open to customers in the region, as part of the company’s commitment to environmental efforts and in conjunction with the Arbor Day Foundation.

Wyoming joins Colorado as the second state in the western United States to start DraftKings’ online sportsbook this year, following Virginia and Michigan in January.

Second state this year to permit direct mobile licencing

Wyoming follows Virginia as the second state this year to enable direct mobile licencing, which allows mobile operators like DraftKings, which produce the majority of sports betting income, to be licenced without being tethered to a land-based casino or other brick-and-mortar facility.

The BetMGM app will allow users to customise pre-game, in-play, futures, and parlay wagers, providing a user-friendly sports betting experience.

BetMGM CEO, Adam Greenblatt said: “We’re ecstatic that BetMGM is one of the first mobile sports betting platforms to launch in Wyoming, just in time for the start of the football season.

Customers can use their BetMGM points to redeem experiences at MGM Resorts properties across the country, including the Bellagio and MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Borgata in New Jersey, MGM National Harbor in Maryland, Beau Rivage in Mississippi, and MGM Grand Detroit, thanks to BetMGM’s integration with MGM Resorts’ M life Rewards programme.
