This week, DISH Network, a leading distributor of satellite television in the United States, and DraftKings announced a strategic partnership.
DISH consumers through its range of products will be able to use DraftKings’ sportsbook and DFS experiences as part of the agreement.
The collaboration kicks off with a first-of-its-kind DraftKings software incorporation on DISH TV Hopper.
Sports betting and DF experiences
In the future, DISH Network’s SLING TV and Boost Mobile will be able to offer DraftKings sports betting and regular fantasy experiences.
DISH TV Group President Brian Neylon said: “The integration with DraftKings is an exciting enhancement for our customers and a great addition to the growing DISH TV Hopper platform — a one-stop entertainment hub.
“We’re thrilled to work with DraftKings to amplify the sports-fan experience, and extend the DraftKings footprint across our unique suite of services, including SLING TV and Boost Mobile, with potential applications across our 5G wireless buildout in the future.”
Betting odds and fantasy tournaments
Customers with a DISH TV Hopper family receiver that is wired to the internet will be able to use the DraftKings app to browse betting odds and fantasy tournaments.
They will place bets or enter contests directly from their television, then monitor and watch live sports matches that lead to their bets or fantasy teams.
Customers will be instructed to complete the purchase inside the firm’s app on their mobile device after a bet or dream contest submission has been initiated via text message.
NCAA football, NBA, and NHL games
DISH TV customers will be able to place bets on NCAA football, NBA, and NHL games from the app via Hopper until it launches, with more features to come.
DraftKings’ President of Product and Technology, as well as a co-founder, Paul Liberman, explained: “Our deal with DISH TV and the technology behind it immerses customers within a next-generation viewership experience and reaches these fanbases in a completely new way.
“This is a unique opportunity for fans to watch games and engage with our real-money products while the technology also allows for further innovation ahead.”
