Colombia’s online gambling industry has been steadily growing. Coljuegos, the country’s online gambling authority, has lately given users a number of internet gambling licenses.
The casino provider Grupo Vinnare is the newest to obtain permission for the start of online gambling activities in the country. Following the permission from Coljuegos, the firm is now permitted to deliver online gambling and sports betting goods in the Latin American nation.
So far, Coljuegos has awarded 16 of these online gambling licenses, including the one issued to Grupo Vinnare.
Online gambling in Columbia is on the rise having risen by almost two-thirds in the first half of this year.
In its latest study, Coljuegos disclosed that the state’s percentage of the internet gambling income sector rose by 63% year-on-year to COP29.8b (US$ 8.9 m) in the six-month period beginning June 30.
Online casinos now adds 9.4% of Coljuegos’ total income. The internet ‘casino & entertainment’ section is the biggest contribution to COP186.3 m.
Colombia was the first Latin American nation to control online gambling in 2016 with Coljuegos starting to grant gambling permits from July 2017 onwards.
Recently, Coljuegos, has rendered it simple to locate legal casino locations in Colombia. The national gambling regulator has launched an online map that enables consumers to locate legal gambling facilities in any town across Colombia.
New chart users and competitors can now also obtain all appropriate data, including title, email and commercial identity code, along with the expiry date of the permit obtained by the site provider.
