Codere Becomes Official Club de Fútbol Monterrey Rayados Sponsor

Codere, a global casino and sports betting operator, is the current official sponsor of the Mexican Club de Fútbol Monterrey Rayados. The agreement will make the brand noticeable until 2025 on the uniforms of the team.

From July 2021, when the Codere logo appears on the team’s kits and jerseys, the firm will become the main sponsor of the Liga MX team. This will allow the operator, not only because of the popularity of the brand on the jersey, but also through various marketing and promotional actions that will be carried out with the Mexican club, to move forward with its international expansion and brand consolidation strategy.

‘Important commitment’

Carlos Sabanza, Head of Sponsorships at Codere said: “This agreement represents an important commitment for the company in this strategic market to boost our gaming offering at the local level.”

Mexico is ‘a key market’ for its development, according to the company, which operates in two European and five Latin American countries, given that it accounted for 22 percent of the group’s global revenues at the end of 2019.

Consolidating growth

Rayados’ Executive Vice President, Pedro Esquivel, said: “It’s a pleasure for the team to start a relationship with an international brand like Codere, which will help us both to continue consolidating our growth and adhere to our goals. We believe in long-term alliances with business partners who share our values and objectives, and that’s why we thank Codere for their trust and we are sure that great things will come in the future.”

Alberto Telias, marketing Director at Codere, added: “The agreement with Rayados is an extremely exciting project. We believe that we have common brand values, which we want to exploit together.

“Partnering with such a successful and important team as Rayados, after a period where the pandemic affected the game – not only because venues had to close, but also because sports competitions had to be postponed at a global level – confirms the strong proposal that Codere has for Mexican players.”
