Bitcoin sportsbook and casino Cloudbet introduced vertical sports, expanding the betting experience of their customers on titles like Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) and FIFA 20.
Cloudbet clients will now be able to place in-play bets on a variety of everyday sporting events using cryptocurrency. The sportsbook will also improve its customer interaction with a Discord channel (a frequently used chat forum by gamers) where like-minded fans can share betting tips while also finding out the ‘Bet of the Day’ operators.
A spokesperson for Cloudbet stated: “Our figures indicate clearly that there is strong demand and we will continue to invest in making our platform the best place to bet on esports with crypto. Our aim as a responsive and innovative operator is to recognise what our customers want and deliver it to them.”
The sum wagered on esports was expected to grow to approximately $13 billion this year, more than double the number in 2016, according to consultants Eilers and Krejcik Gaming. It is also important to remember that these predictions were made before the COVID-19 crisis, which resulted in sportsbooks putting more emphasis on betting on sports.
It has encouraged operators like Cloudbet to raise their offerings of esports to satisfy the rising demand of punters. The sportsbook also emphasised that a fifth of all sports bets placed with Cloudbet in April, led by FIFA 20, CS: GO and Dota 2 accounted for esports.
More than 60 regular in-play betting markets and live streams on the League of Legends, Overwatch, NBA 2 K, StarCraft, Rainbow Six, Rocket League, Call of Duty and King of Glory will also be available from Cloudbet.
