Century Casinos has rolled out a new collaboration with Circa Sports Colorado as the firm is preparing to enter the region’s internet sports betting market.
Applications were submitted within the state via a subsidiary of Circa Sports to obtain the necessary licences prior to May 1, 2020. The Circa Sports mobile sports betting app will be operating in conjunction with one of the Colorado sports wagering master licences held by the company’s subsidiaries.
The cooperation agreement reflects an initial 15-year link-up which includes a market access fee, a share of net gaming revenue and a minimum income guarantee payable annually.
Century Casinos has two additional master licences available for the region’s sports betting partnerships, with this first app expected to launch in just under three months.
Circa Sports ‘ Century Casinos link-up follows decisions taken in November 2019 when Colorado voters approved Proposition DD, ratifying state sports wagering legislation across the states. The Colorado Division of Gaming is predicted to approve rules in February 2020 and sports betting is supposed to begin on May 1, 2020.
Circa Sports CEO Derek Stevens said: “We are excited to be at the forefront of sports betting in Colorado with our partners at Century Casinos. Colorado has proven to be an ideal place to mark the official expansion of Circa Sports outside of Nevada with its pro-growth regulatory environment. Furthermore, the Colorado Division of Gaming has done an excellent job to ensure a seamless application and launch process.”
