Casinos Secure Entry As Colorado Opens The Floodgates

The Centennial State has become the newest U.S. territory to allow sports wagering, becoming the eighteenth state to do so at the beginning of the month amid analysts estimates of $6 billion in bets and $400 million in gross operator sales at maturity.

Regulators made the practise legal on May 1, 2020 after votes approved the legalisation of sports betting in November of last year, boasting of approaching 40 casino assets.

DraftKings has extended its relationship with Twin River Worldwide Holdings to gain admission to the area, with a debuting sportsbook company at Mardi Gras Casino in Blackhawk.

It would become the seventh country-wide retail site for the company, with sites in Iowa (Wild Rose – three sites), Mississippi (Scarlet Pearl), New Jersey (Resorts) and New York (del Lago).

Matt Kalish, DraftKings North America Co-Founder and President said: “We are thrilled to introduce Colorado’s passionate sports fans to DraftKings Sportsbook, the nation’s favourite mobile and online sports betting platform.
