International Game Technology has replaced the casino management system of a competitor with its IGT Advantage solution at the newly reopened Carousel Casino in the province of North West, South Africa.
As a result, a suite of products including machine accounting, patron management, cage and table accounting, and table manager will be deployed by the facility, as well as marketing products such as carded lucky coins and M5. The latter aims to allow the creation of content to provide patrons with enhanced interfaces, targeted messaging and bonusing.
The IGT Advantage CMS connects the property to 400 machines and offers a complete set of tools to help drive business results and improve operational efficiency.
The Resort Wallet carded cashless module is also included as part of the deal, a single-card solution that offers players the option of moving funds using their club card from game to game.
Integration with Carousel’s patron management and point-of-sale systems means that players can use a single card to access their gaming balances, player club rewards, and property services and amenities, reduce operating costs, increase club membership, and drive carded games.
Mark MacCombie, IGT vice president of sales and operations in the EMEA said: “The delivery of our IGT Advantage solution to the newly reopened Carousel Casino demonstrates the power and reliability of our system in South Africa’s class III casino vertical.

Carousel Casino, which opened for the first time in 1991, closed in March 2020 due to pandemic-related restrictions, with Betanogenix affiliate Lakama Resorts and Casino subsequently acquiring the site, a subsidiary of the Lakama Group of Companies, which holds an interest in the country’s multiple gaming operations. Since 2017, IGT has supplied electronic bingo terminals to Betanogenix.
