Caesars Entertainment has formalised an initial sponsorship deal with DC United’s Major League Soccer team.
Under the terms of the deal, players on team jersey sleeves will wear the new “Caesars Sports” logo for both home and away matches. It is the first partnership to allow a casino firm to display their logo on an MLS jersey.
Chief Marketing Officer Chris Holdren explained in a statement from Caesars that the partnership represents yet another step in the company’s efforts to become a leader in sports.
The partnership also includes game-day activations with promotional give-aways, LED signage, special match moments and the accessibility of suites at home games and stadium events at the team’s Audi Field stadium.
The Co-Chairman of DC United Jason Levien stated: “Partnering with Caesars provides us with a great opportunity to realise the dream of Audi Field being a year-round hub of entertainment and activity and is another strong indication that global brands continue to see value in partnering with our organisation.”
