The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has partnered with Stats Perform to become the sole distributor of the sport’s live broadcasts and real-time stats to licenced betting providers.
The deal will cover the world’s top men’s, women’s, and mixed badminton competitions, as well as the dissemination of data on 100 percent of all players on the court.
The BWF World Championships, the BWF Thomas and Uber Cup finals, the World Men’s and Women’s Team Championships, the BWF Sudirman Cup,the BWF Sudirman Cup, all four levels of the BWF World Tour, the BWF Tour Super 100, and the BWF World Tour finals are all covered by the enlarged contract.
Stats Perform will endeavour to raise the volume of its live video streaming of BWF tournaments by over 70 percent prior to the start of the five-year partnership in January 2022, bringing the total number of matches covered from 4,300 to 7,500.
Stats Perform’s Chief Rights Officer, Alex Rice said: “Elite badminton has a huge global following with lots of scope for growth and we’re delighted that the BWF has chosen Stats Perform’s vision to help them realise its potential.
“Increasing live coverage and news coverage will boost the exposure and appeal of BWF events to fans, helping bring them closer to the action.
“It’s a privilege to be partnering with the BWF and we’re already seeing a great response from our customers.”
All streams will be available worldwide, including in the country of the respective tournament host, as an enhancement to the organisation’s prior agreement for licenced sportsbooks.
Stats Perform’s sports news content provider, PressBox, will also distribute BWF news video clips, live scores, and stats to media across the world.
Following an extension of it’s collaboration with the Colombian football governing body DIMAYOR earlier this week and securing an extended deal with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) last week, Stats Perform has now inked its third distribution arrangement with a sports authority this month.
