American stand-up comedian, actor, voice actor and professional poker player, Brad Garrett, has partnered with Zynga Poker to set up a juicy game at his Southern California home.
As part of a sweepstakes starting Monday, the former co-star of ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ will host a unique “Celebrity Home Game.” Players can enter the matches of Zynga Poker’s Texas Hold’em matches over the next two weeks playing Daily and Hot Streak challenges. The game can be downloaded free of charge from the App Store and Google Play.
“What I love about Zynga Poker is that you can practice your game without having to worry about your ‘tells’ or poker table etiquette – it’s just about the cards,” Garrett said in a news release announcing the event.
“I can make a sincere pledge to the winners of this sweepstakes – when you’re at my Home Game, we’ll be playing by these same rules. Check your poker face at the door and get ready to have some fun.”
Two winners will be invited to join Garrett in a no-stakes poker match, in a full house of his A-list mates.
It may be a casual game, but Garrett is an accomplished player who takes part in the semi-pro ranks. He has played at the main event of the World Series of Poker and appeared at the Bravo Celebrity Poker Showdown and the National Heads-Up Poker Championship of the NBC.
Garrett has some severe table presence with a bellowing voice and 6-foot-9 frame and is regarded one of the greatest celebrity players around.
Best known for playing Brother Robert Barone’s part on Everyone Loves Raymond, which brought him three Emmy Awards in a Comedy Series for Best Supporting Actor, he actually started out as a stand-up comic and now owns a Las Vegas comedy club.
Zynga Poker will give up to $100,000 as part of the Celebrity Home Game to Garrett’s Maximum Hope Foundation.
