Betway has returned to tennis sponsorships as the official betting partner of the Miami Open, an ATP and WTA 1000 sanctioned event.
The Miami Open (22 March to 4 April) features the top players on the ATP (men’s) and WTA (women’s) tours as the pro-tennis 2021 season kicks off with its first ‘Masters event.’
Returning to courtside
At the Miami Garden’s Hard Rock Stadium, Betway, the longtime championship sponsor of tennis’ prestigious Davis Cup, can see the name return to courtside.
The ATP Tour lifted its betting sponsorship ban after committing to a new tournament sponsorship arrangement approved by the ITF, the world tennis governing body, after a three-year hiatus.
Biggest sporting event
Betway said in a statement that its return to ATP and WT tennis would “shine a light on the brand’s ever-growing commitment to sponsorship of the biggest sporting events’.
Betway’s CEO, Anthony Werkman, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be announcing our sports betting partnership with the Miami Open.
“As a globally recognised brand, we’re excited to be involved with one of the most prestigious tennis tournaments in the world, which plays host to some huge names in the sport.”
