Betsson AB has renewed its primary sponsorship of the Malta Social Impact Awards (MSIA Awards), which honours non-profit organisations and charitable entities that have made significant contributions to the island’s environmental and social sustainability.
Betsson will be the title sponsor of the MSIA awards for the fourth year in a row, an initiative organised by Maltese charity organisations The Gasan Group and Inspirasia Foundation.
The fifth edition of the MSIA Awards will be televised on TV Malta (TVM) on Saturday, March 27th, and will have Betsson Group CEO Jesper Svensson on the MSIA judging panel.
Five Malta-based non-profits will recount social and community projects initiated in 2020 at the awards ceremony. The finalists will bid for a share of €100,000 in grants to fund their organisations, as well as the MSIA’s ‘TakeOff Program,’ which provides non-profits with business and academic support from the University of Malta.
Awarded over €320,000 in grants
Betsson claimed that it was proud to sponsor an event that had awarded over €320,000 in grants to 13 non-profits over the previous five years, with each group helping to deliver charitable services to Malta’s broader community.
“These initiatives have had an impact on the lives of thousands of individuals in Malta, from children to the elderly, migrants and disadvantaged groups, as well as people suffering from mental or physical health issues,” said Betsson.
