BetMGM Takes App To Washington Following Washington Nationals Deal

BetMGM has expanded its sports betting app into Washington, DC, thanks to a collaboration with the Washington Nationals, making it the only mobile sports betting app available at Nationals Park.

This is part of a multi-year agreement signed with the MLB franchise in January 2021, which also includes the opening of a retail BetMGM Sportsbook at Nationals Park later this year.

Adam Greenblatt, CEO of BetMGM said: “Launching in Washington DC at Nationals Park sets the stage for our plans to expand BetMGM within the region, as we’ve already seen great success in Virginia.

“The Washington Nationals have been a fantastic partner, committed to innovating the in-stadium fan experience, and we’re looking forward to opening our retail sportsbook at the stadium later this year.”

In Washington, DC, the BetMGM app is now available for download on both iOS and Android. While the app is available throughout the area, due to municipal limitations, users must be within a two-block radius of Nationals Park to place mobile wagers.

Greatest in-venue fan experience

Lerner Sports Group COO Alan Gottlieb said: “As our official sports betting partner, BetMGM further enhances the greatest in-venue fan experience in Washington DC through its state-of-the-art entertainment products and services.

“The BetMGM mobile app will enable our fans to engage with the game in new and exciting ways, while the BetMGM sportsbook connected to Nationals Park will provide Nationals fans and the DC community with a first-class gathering place to celebrate their passion for sports.”

Nationals fans can use their BetMGM points to redeem experiences at MGM Resorts sites across the country, including Borgata in New Jersey, Bellagio and MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and MGM National Harbor in Maryland, thanks to BetMGM’s integration with MGM Resorts’ M life Rewards programme.

MGM National Harbor’s president and COO, Jorge Perez, added: “As a leader in delivering monumental experiences, today is a very exciting day for MGM National Harbor.

“This becomes the first of many offerings we are developing to seamlessly connect sports and entertainment across the DMV, providing fans with unique opportunities to interact with our world-class resort and casino.”
