The Detroit Tigers have revealed that BetMGM, a sports betting and online gaming firm, has joined the team as an official gaming partner.
BetMGM will acquire promotional rights on scoreboards in Comerica Park, as well as fan-focused advertisements, integrated social media content, and more, as part of the multi-year partnership deal.
Enhancements of partnership
The Detroit Tigers’ senior vice president of corporate partnerships, Peter Kent said: “We’re excited to expand our relationship with BetMGM to feature the Detroit Tigers and Comerica Park.
“Our fans will enjoy the enhancements this partnership provides to their experience, both at the ballpark and in rooting on the Tigers from home.”
BetMGM will be extended into the Tigers’ digital and social channels, including the MLB Ballpark App, as part of the multi-year agreement. At Tigers’ stadium, BetMGM signage will be prominently displayed, including on the out-of-town scoreboard and the pace pitch LED screen.
Development of Michigan sports team deals
BetMGM’s chief revenue officer, Matt Prevost, said: “From day one, a main priority for us in Michigan was to develop deep relationships with its beloved sports teams, and we are excited to expand on that today with our partnership with the Tigers.
“We look forward to engaging with the Tigers fan base and offering best-in-class promotions and perks only available on BetMGM.”
This agreement comes after BetMGM announced the inclusion of online poker in Michigan last week, following up on its January introduction of digital sports betting and casino goods in the state.
