BetConstruct received an online gambling and betting licence from the Swedish Gambling Authority (SGA), or Spelinspektionen, for its sportsbook and casino products.
The new licence, granted to Vivaro Limited, a B2C subsidiary of the firm, allows BetConstruct to operate in Sweden – where 97 companies now hold active licences. It includes sports betting and online gaming through the brands Vbet which Ohmbet, which operates through June 2023.
BetConstruct CEO Vigen Badalyan stated: “While this has been a long and arduous road, we are honored and excited today to have the approval of the Swedish Gambling Authority.
“BetConstruct gets the green light to offer its robust and advanced solutions in the Swedish market, where operators will benefit from our software in a secure and reliable environment and as seamlessly as in other regulations.”
It’s the technology provider ‘s latest strategic step, having broadened its global presence across many markets. Approvals from MGA (Malta), UKGC (UK), ARJEL (France), ADM (Italy), WCGRB (South Africa), GSC (Isle of Man) and ONJN (Romania) add to the SGA licence.
In recent weeks, the Swedish market has faced criticism of overdoing restrictions on licenced sports betting and online casino operators, thus pushing punters into the illegal market.
Branschföreningen för Onlinespel (BOS), the country’s online gambling trade association, believes that channelling numbers for regulated sports betting and online casino in Sweden could be as low as 80-85 and 72-78 percent , respectively.
