BetBlocker, the responsible gambling app was enhanced with an additional tool that seeks to improve player accountability. The new feature, designed to make it easier for individuals to block themselves from online gambling, lets punters have more control over their operations.
On the first day of Safer Gambling Week the official launch of the latest helpful alternative is coming. This campaign, which will run from 19 to 25 November in the United Kingdom and Ireland, aims to raise awareness of safety as one of the hottest topics continually discussed.
Previously, software from BetBlocker, recently supported by Greentube, relied solely on blocking for a fixed period of time. To discourage themselves from engaging in online gambling operations, customers were able to choose particular periods.
The new calendar functionality helps customers to better handle their time spent playing games. They have the option to pick those days when they can access portals that offer internet-based casino games, to be more specific.
Trustee Duncan Garvie of BetBlocker commented: “Responsible gambling is about more than the binary option of do or don’t; it’s about helping ensure that people who enjoy gambling can access this activity in a safe and controlled manner.”
Customers may mark particular days by adding blocks to a calendar to stop them from gambling online. Players may prohibit themselves from gambling on the weekend, for example, but encourage them to do so throughout the week, or block out the first few days after their daily payday. The feature blocks any access to the iGaming platforms at the same time.
As Garvie emphasised, the newly added feature greatly expands the service, enabling punters to “tailor restrictions that suit their specific needs.”
BetBlocker was formally recognised by the Great Britain Gambling Commission (UKGC) earlier this year as a charity with a focus on helping deter problem gambling.
Betblocker has joined other charities on the official UKGC website, BeGambleAware, GamCare, Gam-Anon, Gamblers Anonymous, Gamblock, and Gordon Moody Association, as of March 2020.
In addition, the app was also certified as a charity in the UK in November last year. It is now classified as one of the six charities accredited as prevention specialists by the regulator.
The app also features Parental Control that prohibits gambling services and other potentially harmful websites from being accessed by the underage population. Each major operating system, including Windows, Linux, XOS, Android, iOS, and Fire OS, supports this service.
What Are the Safer Gambling Week 2020 Highlights?
As already reported, on the opening day of UK Safer Gambling Week the new choice was presented on BetBlocker.
Like the previous ones, this year’s event aims to raise awareness of protection and to come up with ways to strengthen it. Participants will also concentrate on possible remedies and preventions, in addition to addressing healthy actions in general.
Gambling blogs, as well as social networks, are encouraged to contribute to the occasion by supporting the game and pointing out all the problems and issues players currently deal with.
