The 2019 SBC Awards ceremony in London Tuesday night saw bet365 and LeoVegas again win the big prizes as 34 separate firms and five industry leaders have been rewarded for their achievements in the sports betting and iGaming industry.
The conference at Battersea Evolution, curated by Kirsty Gallacher and Ruud Gullit, brought together 700 industry professionals to celebrate the accomplishments of the most creative and best-performing companies, distributors and partners.
The evening resulted inbet365 being named the sixth consecutive year’s Sportsbook of the Year, having earlier picked up the Year’s Football Sportsbook and Best Affiliate Program honours. The Stoke-based bookmaker was also highly commended for being pipped at the post by William Hill in the classification of Racing Sportsbooks.
LeoVegas proved to be the pick for casino voters, and the Swedish giant kept the name of the Year’s Casino Operator and also received the Casino Entertainment Innovation Award.
Betradar (Best Live Streaming Product Best Virtual Football Product and Best Sports Data Product) and Trustly (Payment Innovation of the Year and Payment Solution of the Year) joined them in recording several victories.
The event also honoured some of the individuals who over the past 12 months have made significant contributions to the industry’s growth and credibility. Scientific Games has been named the Year’s Standalone Platform Provider, Together Gaming has been awarded White Label Supplier of the Year, and BetConstruct’s VRT gaming assistant has won it the title of Innovation of the Year.
The 34 winning companies also included Betsson Group in the Year’s Socially Responsible Sportsbook category, while Kindred Group took home the Socially Responsible Casino Award, and Sky Betting & Gaming was named Employer of the Year.
As well as the established big hitters, some of the newest market entrants were honoured by the SBC Awards and the Rising Star awards went to Stoiximan / Betano Group (Sports Betting), Play Ojo (Casino), Shape Games (Sports Betting Innovation) and BetGames. TV (Casino Innovation).
Better Collective triumphed in the category of the year’s hotly contested Sports Affiliate in the affiliates chapter, while Catena Media took the corresponding Casino award and 1XBet won the Best Affiliate Product Innovation trophy.
Completing the operator’s honours, Parimatch’s promotional work with UFC star Conor McGregor clinched the Year’s Marketing Campaign award, but it was just edged out by Dafabet for Sponsorship of the Year-a third successive win in this category for the Philippines-based operator which is Celtic, Fulham and Norwich City’s shirt sponsor. Betway has enjoyed consistent success in keeping the Year’s Esports Operator title, and it was appointed Omni-Channel Operator of the Year by a first victory for Poland’s STS.
SBTech (Sportsbook Supplier of the Year), Betgenius (Best Live Betting Product), Playtech BGT Sports (Best Land-based Betting & Gaming Product), Golden Race (Best Virtual Sports Product) and Pinnacle Solution (Esports Supplier of the Year) have been awarded in the supplier section of the awards.
NetEnt emerged triumphant in the catagory Casino Game Developer of the Year, while Evolution Gaming won the award for Innovation in Casino Entertainment. Other awards went to Optima (Best Multi-Channel Supplier), Optimove (Best Acquisition & Retention Partner) and Xtremepush (Marketing & Services Provider of the Year). Jumio (Fraud & Compliance Solution of the Year) and MuchBetter (Mobile Payment Solution of the Year) joined Trustly in celebrating success in the payment section of the SBC Awards.
