Atlético de Madrid, the La Liga champions, have announced a two-year global sponsorship contract with online gambling company Betway, excluding Spain and Asia.
The Super Group-owned company, which has become the club’s official sports betting partner, will have its logo shown pitch-side on the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium’s LED advertising boards during domestic games.
Atlético de Madrid’s commercial director, Iigo Aznar, stated: “We are very keen with our partnership with Betway outside of Spain. It is a top global player in its sector which will represent an important support to the Club’s international expansion strategy.
“We look forward to starting to work together and make this partnership a great success for both Betway and Atlético de Madrid.”
Betway will also have access to the club’s playing squad, with the production and distribution of social and digital content for football fans already in the works.

The former is SA Rugby’s first partnership with a betting company, with the partnership with the world champions being hailed as a “significant step” in Betway’s expansion and reach among South African rugby fans.
