At the company’s Blue Chip Casino Resort Spa in Michigan City, Indiana, Aristocrat Technologies has teamed up with US casino operator Boyd Gaming Corporation to debut its cashless wagering digital wallet technology.
The purpose sees patrons put money on account in the cashier cage, then use their player loyalty card to access those funds on the casino floor instantly. The digital wallet removes the need to handle cash or redeem tickets at slot machines, providing a consumer experience that is frictionless.
For slot machine players, the launch will initially provide access to the wallet, enabling them to use their B Connected player loyalty card to position wagers and cash out credits. Links to the digital wallet will be extended to table games, restaurants, and other facilities at Blue Chip in future stages.
Blake Rampmaier, Boyd Gaming’s Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer said: “Building on our strategic partnership with Aristocrat, Boyd Gaming continues to add best-in-class mobile cashless wagering and contactless solutions that will greatly enhance the patron experience at our properties.
“As previously announced, we will continue to leverage our partnership with Aristocrat to drive mobile innovation in a secure and exciting environment for our patrons.”
Aristocrat and Boyd Gaming plan to extend digital wallet technology to additional Boyd Gaming assets around the nation on the basis of the popularity of the Blue Chip launch and pending regulatory approvals.
In addition , the two companies also intend to incorporate the digital wallet into the B Connected Mobile app of Boyd Gaming, with the goal of developing a digital, touchless customer experience.
Cath Burns, executive vice president of customer experience solutions for Aristocrat added: “We are thrilled to partner with Boyd to bring this new and exciting solution to their patrons.
“We are passionate about the patron engagement and that Boyd continues to roll out Aristocrat’s suite of innovative CX mobile solutions to aid in the transformation of the patron and industry experience.”
