BetMGM, a sports betting and digital gaming agency, has named Andrew Hagopian to the company’s executive team as Chief Legal Officer. He will oversee the legal and regulatory divisions, reporting to CEO Adam Greenblatt.
Hagopian hails from MGM Resorts International, where he was Chief Corporate Counsel and was instrumental in founding BetMGM in 2018 in partnership with GVC Holdings.
He led a team of lawyers and other professionals at MGM Resorts who are responsible for legal aspects of gaming regulatory matters, property operations, joint ventures, corporate transactions, sports and entertainment, growth, intellectual property, data protection, corporate governance, equity, finance and business contracts.
Hagopian said: “BetMGM resides at the intersection of technology and gaming. “This is an exciting opportunity to leverage my industry and transactional experience at a fast-moving company in a complex, regulated environment where a strong continued commitment to excellence in compliance will be essential to our success.”
Greenblatt commented: “Andrew’s deep industry experience, and proven ability to build and lead a world-class legal team, will serve BetMGM well as we continue to grow rapidly in a dynamic industry.”
Hagopian was an attorney with Gibson Dunn, a top-tier multinational law firm representing several Fortune 100 firms, prior to MGM Resorts. He was a member of the Corporate Transactions and Securities Practice Group at the company, negotiating complex M&A transactions and advising public corporations on issues of governance and securities law.
